Step 1: To start you need a thin piece of wood. I used a ¼ inch thick piece of cedar I had left over from a different project.
Step 2: Trace out the shape you want. I made mine with a little curve on the bottom so it would better scape out the inside of a bowl. I achieved the curve by placing a roll of tape on top and traced around it. For the length of it I went with 6 inches which felt good in my hand.
Step 3: Next you will need to cut out your shape. You can do this with a bandsaw, jigsaw, or handsaw.
Step 4: Next bevel the bottom and two short sides. I used a drawknife but you could also use a pocket knife.
Step 5: Then sand all the sides smooth. I took this time to make sure that the bevels came to a nice point without being sharp to ensure it would scrap the dough well.
Step 6: Put a finish on it and you're done:)
